Logical Block form
Use the Logical Block form to add or edit a logical block.
To add or edit a logical block:
In the Name field, enter a unique name for the logical block. The name cannot include any dots or spaces.
In the Long Name field, enter a long name for the logical block.
From the Block Purpose list, select a block type, such as Block, Community, Equipment Control, or Truck Queue. For a description of the available block types, see Block types (on page 1).
In the Code Chars field, type any code characters you want to use for this logical block. For more information on code chars, see General tab (Stack Block form) (on page 1).
From the Icon Id Logical Block Name list, select the required logical block, if any. For a list of logical block icons and their resource numbers (icon IDs), see Table of Logical block icons.
If a value does not start with a number, this indicates that the logical block is not associated with an icon Id and it will not be visible in the XPS client toolbar.
In the Ingress Vertex field, enter the ingress vertex, that is the point in the yard path model where the container handling equipment (CHE) enters the logical block. Because logical blocks are not modeled as physical locations, the ingress has the same vertex as the egress.
In the Egress Vertex field, enter the egress vertex, that is the point in the yard path model where the CHE exits the logical block. Because logical blocks are not modeled as physical locations, the egress has the same vertex as the ingress.
Click Save.
If the minimum required logical blocks are not defined in the Logical Blocks form, N4 creates any missing required logical blocks when it validates the yard model in the Validate yard model form, exports a compiled yard file, or applies yard model changes. For more information, see the table in the View logical blocks (on page 1).
In addition, if the Egress and Ingress vertices are not defined for the block, the XPS Distance attribute will always be '0m' for all housekeeping moves after creating yard model.
